
Damian J. Martinez is an experienced litigator in the areas of white collar criminal, regulatory and complex civil matters. Damian has represented corporate officers or directors against the Department of Justice and the Securities Exchange Commission, including in subprime lending, options pricing, and insider trading cases.

In complex civil cases, among other matters, Damian has represented a partner of an algorithmic trading company in a trade secrets arbitration, a Colombia-based telecommunications company in a partnership dispute, and he recently tried to verdict in Los Angeles Superior Court a case against an international shipping company.
From 2001 to 2006, Damian served as an Assistant United States Attorney in Los Angeles. As a federal prosecutor, Damian conducted grand jury investigations, tried 10 cases to verdict, and handled multiple appeals before the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Damian also responded to multiple extradition requests from foreign nations. Before joining the U.S. Attorney's Office, Damian served as a law clerk for then U.S. District Court Judge Carlos R. Moreno (Ret.).
Prior to joining the firm, Damian was in-house litigation counsel for an entertainment and consumer products company where he was responsible for managing outside counsel in domestic and international cases. He was also responsible for representing the company as counsel of record in California federal and state courts.
In 1998, Damian graduated with honors from Columbia University School of Law. In 1994, Damian obtained a B.A. with honors in philosophy from UCLA.
Damian serves on the board of the Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice, a non-profit organization based in Boyle Heights that provides direct legal representation in family law and housing law at no cost to its clients.
